On the Road Again

There’s something spectacular about road trips. Something quiet and unobtrusive. Something that can mask itself in boredom, wrap itself up in impatience and hide under a tired and sore butt…

But. There’s nothing boring or tiresome about it. Road trips to me are free thinking. Road trips to me are free flowing. Road trips to me are good conversations. Road trips to me are getting good and lost in good music. Road trips to me are open roads, endless possibilities and forward thinking.

I’m on the road again. Headed up to Tahoe to shoot Dave and Nicole’s epic wedding. Lookin’ forward to a great trip. Lookin’ forward to a beautiful celebration. Lookin’ forward to lookin’ forward…

Long Beach Wedding Photography | Alicia and Hans

Alicia and Hans‘ wedding was nothing short of a fairy tale. And here’s why…

Alicia was stunning. And calm. Hans was more handsome than ever. And happy. His eyes watered as the ceremony began, as he watched his beautiful bride cross the balcony and descend through their closest family and friends to him. Their eyes locked. Their hands clasped. And the two said their vows and were united in matrimony together. Forever.

The flowers were gorgeous. The dress was like a dream. The food and drink were delicious. But it wasn’t the details this time that made this wedding picture perfect. It was the bride and groom, Alicia and Hans, and their beautiful and unconditional love for one another. Just watching them look at one another was like a fairy tale come true…

Down on One Knee | Orange Engagement Portraits

Tom’s heart had to have been pounding. Anisha’s was beating like normal. We were wrapping up a portrait session at Chapman University. Just a normal, regular ol’ portrait session.

Then Tom got down on one knee. Professed his forever love for Anisha. And asked for her hand in marriage. And duh, she said yes.

Congratulations Tom and Anisha. Thanks SO MUCH for employing me with such a documentary task. It was an honor to be a part of your moment.

And huge thanks to Lauren from JL Photographers for helping me capture it with such different and awesome angles.

Michelle - So adorns, to borrow your phrase. You did an amazing job capturing the moment. Love the flowers at his feet, the hug while he’s still holding the ring behind her back. Props to your friend for assisting. What a great moment for them to have recorded by you. Love it!

Laughter | Laguna Beach Wedding Photography

Laughter is the best medicine, they say. And whether or not you need the medicine, I completely agree.

I love it when you laugh so good and so hard your whole body vibrates with total goodness. I love it when you laugh so much your nose tingles and your eyes tear. I love it when your laugh stimulates more laughs and it becomes a trade of laughing at laughing. I love it when you laugh a little like a giggle. I love it when you laugh and whatever was wrong before melts away under laughter’s warmth.

I love it when I meet a couple who laugh together. Often. Open. And overly awesome.

That’s Amanda and Matt. They laughed all day last weekend at their wedding in Laguna. They laughed at the water. They laughed at the sun. Perhaps sometimes they laughed at me. Whatever the situation held, laughter was involved. These two just get a kick out of one another, and it was a beautiful thing to see and to laugh along with.

So the doctor’s order is in: hang out with people like Amanda and Matt. You’ll be healthy the rest of your life.

The Happiest Place on Earth + engagement portraits with a fabulous couple = The Happiest Photo Shoot on Earth!

I was stoked when Mary and Miguel wanted to do their engagement session at Disneyland. As annual pass holders, they spend a lot of time there and as many of us do, love the place. So naturally, the three of us were excited to walk around to their favorite spots and document their love.

Mary looked like a doll all done up with these rad sling back peep toe platforms and the cutest little purple dress I’ve ever seen. If she had a tiara on her head, all the little girls would have stood in line for her autograph. I know I would have. And Miguel was totally her knight in shining awesomeness. Tall and strong, he held her and looked at her like he’d go to the ends of the earth to protect her and love her forever. It was adorbs.

So I totally want an annual pass now. And a little purple dress. And a knight in shining awesomeness. Anyone wanna send those things my way?

Lovely shots. Did you have have any issues with the park? I remember them having lens length limits.
