Orange Photographer | Professional Portraits

‘I never like pictures of myself,’ Dave said. To which I responded, ‘Well, you’ve never had your pictures taken by me.’ 😛

So one lovely afternoon a few weeks ago as the light slowly sank lower in the sky, we got together to create some professional portraits of the fabulous photographer himself. He needed some fresh images for his own blog and business ventures so we set out to his favorite place and mine, the sea. They turned out ‘pretty professional,’ he said after we went through all of his favorites. Which, I’m just going to decode as him loving the pictures. Which typically happens when you have your picture taken by me.

🙂

She’s the one with the messy unkempt hair colored by the sun. Her skin is far from fair like it once was. Not even sun kissed. It’s beautifully aged with lines, scars and sometimes bites here and there. But for every flaw on her skin, she has an interesting story to tell.

Don’t date a girl who travels. She is hard to please. The usual dinner-movie date isn’t really her thing. Her soul craves new experiences and adventures. She will be unimpressed with your new car and your expensive watch. She would rather climb a rock or jump out of an airplane.

Chances are, she hasn’t held a steady job. Or she’s probably daydreaming about quitting, unless she works for herself. She doesn’t want to keep working her ass off for someone else’s dream. She has her own and is working towards it. She is a freelancer. She makes money from designing, writing, photography or something that requires creativity and imagination.

Don’t date a girl who travels for she has chosen a life of uncertainty. She goes with the flow and follows her heart. She dances to the beat of her own drum. She doesn’t wear a watch, nor does she check her phone incessantly while you’re together. Her days are ruled by the sun and the moon. When the waves are calling, life stops and she will be oblivious to everything else for a moment. But she has learned the importance of those moments when you answer those calls.

Don’t date a girl who travels as she tends to speak her mind. She will never try to impress your parents or friends. She knows respect, but isn’t afraid to hold a debate about issues in which she believes.

She will never need you. She knows how to pitch a tent and make a fire without your help. She cooks well and doesn’t need you to pay for her meals. She is independent and won’t mind whether you travel with her or not. She will forget to check in with you when she arrives at her destination. She’s busy living in the present. She talks to strangers. She will meet many interesting, like-minded people from around the world who share her passion and dreams.

So don’t date a girl who travels unless you can keep up with her. And if you unintentionally fall in love with one, don’t you dare keep her. Let her go.

Dana Point Engagement Photos

Amy and Kyle came to me through a referral and we talked on the phone and over email but did not meet until yesterday. We spent an hour sipping beverages and getting to know one another a little as the sun sank a little lower in the sky. We spent the next two hours exploring San Juan and the south side of Strands for their engagement pictures and I have to say, this is a super cute couple. They are fun and spirited and open and exactly my kind of people.

And so I just have to take a moment to lift my arms in gratitude this beautiful Monday morning for the blessings of beautiful people that constantly grace my life. I am so thankful that I not only have great friends and clients that trust me and value me enough to refer me to their friends, but also that their friends are so great! I think Goodness attracts goodness and I’m not trying to toot my good horn here, but Amy and Kyle are totally full of goodness.

So, THANK YOU. Amy and Kyle for a great sesh and the great times that are to come. Thanks, Katie for sending them my way. And thanks, Life, for all your glorious Goodness. 🙂

Danuta Lipscomb - My heart is overflowing !!!

I just decided to take another look at the website of the photographer Amy and Kyle were so excited about, for their upcoming wedding – the engagement photo shoot having just taken place last evening (am anxiously awaiting talking with Amy about it tonight). In my exploration of your website, I was gifted with a preview: Amy and Kyle featured in the day’s blog entry!

Jackie, you have captured Amy’s spirit and her relationship with Kyle so perfectly…this one image, alone, is magical (it literally brings tears of happiness and joy). “Everyone meeting Amy and Kyle through this photo”, how can you not feel like you’re thrilled to have been invited to celebrate right along with them!

Gratitude to you, Jackie Lovato! I can’t wait to meet you and receive even more blessings of your talents. Thanks for making your gift, ‘our gift’,for this special event!
