Dale and Dave come from different backgrounds, faiths and families, as we all do. Fate brought them together and their love grew immediately, like a beautiful garden in the warm sun. And like that garden, their unique traits and variations have created a beautiful display as they stand and grow together side by side.
So how fitting that they got married at the gorgeous Sherman Library and Gardens in Newport Beach last Saturday. The flowers and foliage danced gently in the breeze as the two men committed their lives to one another. Their ceremony was filled with heartfelt promises, Hindu rituals of honor and union and Christian Science readings and prayers. It was an exquisite blend of respect for one another and remaining true to themselves. I loved it.
And I love Dave and Dale! Two really special guys that are so lucky they found one another…and I’m sitting here thinking how lucky I am that they found me. What a remarkable day to be a part of. So if you need me I’ll be staring at their wedding photos, reminiscing on their day and praying that their garden flourishes forever.

I’m glad I could teach you my favorite sleeping position so early. Just be careful not to sleep on that arm too long…it tends to do this weird funny feeling thing so just go ahead and roll to a different position every once in awhile. 😉

I’m shooting some detail shots when all of a sudden a voice commands ‘excuse me I’m trying to take some photos,’ and as I turned around he continued ‘my friend is proposing to his girlfriend right now.’ Without missing a beat I continued shooting but now, instead of a set of rings, I was shooting a man proposing to the love of his life.
I really freaking love my job.

Hannah and I have come a long way together since that fateful meeting at London’s Heathrow nearly seven years ago. Our travels through life have coincided and collided at points, and I’m forever thankful. But this isn’t about our journeys together as friends, this is about Hannah’s most exciting trip yet: her road to motherhood.
I flew up to the Santa Cruz mountains last week to photograph her maternity photos and I couldn’t be more excited to share them. They represent so much to me: growth, giving, complete selflessness, and going towards God’s plan fervently without the faintest ideas of how it’ll shake out. Parenthood is scary, yo! Hannah is a faithful human, as is her husband Carter, and I am humbled by their commitment to one another, to their baby on the way and to living an honest life. Their baby is one lucky little girl. I’m so excited to meet her in a few months! She is going to be one amazing lady!
Oh, and of course our portrait session had to end with Hannah hanging in a tree. I mean, it’s Hannah. The Big Guy was in a good mood when he made that one. 🙂
