This week I shot the Yorba Linda Spotlight Theater’s production of Into the Woods. Director Andrea Fouts has outdone herself again: the show is fantastic!
There are two casts: a junior and a senior with children aged 8-18 and talented like you can’t believe. Must be something in the water in Yorba Linda…or maybe it’s the dedicated and skilled production staff that have coached these kids for the past several weeks of rehearsals. Then you add in a beautiful set and stunning costumes, and you’ve got one solid show.
I saw Into the Woods on Broadway back in 2002 and it was good. And perhaps my appreciation for theater has grown, or perhaps my maturity level has developed enough to appreciate the message on a different level…but one thing’s for sure: this children’s production of the show is the entertaining, heartwarming and sure to leave you with a smile on your face and a song in your heart.
Go see it! Running August 6-15 at the Fullerton College Campus Theater. Dates and times listed on Yorba Linda Spotlight Theater Company‘s website. Now, go! Into the Woods!
