Do We Like What We See?

When we really stop and look at ourselves in the mirror, do we like what we see?

I mean, we’re all fascinated with our reflections, right? What is my hair doing today? Do I have anything in my teeth? Is my arm really that small? When did that eyebrow get thinner than the other one? Dang this shirt looks good! It’s nonstop. We all sneak glances of ourselves in window reflections as we walk by and check our nose hairs in our bathrooms. It’s funny they call that space the ‘vanity’…

So Society has conditioned us to think we’re supposed to look a certain way and perhaps we’re disappointed with the seeming lack of this or that we do or don’t have…on the outside. But what about what’s inside? Do you ever look at yourself in the mirror and think about how you look underneath it all?

Dr. Eben Alexander says ‘Love is, without a doubt, the basis of everything.’ So are we loving ourselves, People? Are you happy with Who looks back at you from that looking glass? If not, do something about it! Love is the single most important thing in our universe, and if we don’t start it off with ourselves, how do you expect to extend it to others?

So go ahead, take a good look. And whether or not you like what you see, learn to love it. And if you can’t then change it. We have more control over these things than you think. You just have to open your eyes to it…
