Venice was by far my favorite city in Italy, visually, mentally and self exploratorily. Hah, is that last one even a word? Who cares, you get me.
The city is unlike any I’ve ever seen. It’s quiet yet overcrowded with tourists; it’s small yet large enough to get completely lost; it’s full of grand palaces, yet decayed with grime and grunge. A juxtaposition of sea and cement, attention and neglect, and some of the softest, sweetest light just one turn away from the darkest, coldest corner.
