There are some people who are just good. Solid. Bright. Born with an awesome air that floats around with them wherever they go…

This is Dave and Nicole. They both started out fabulous, but then they got together and the awesomeness and fantasticism exploded.

Their wedding in Tahoe earlier this year was a full weekend of such explosions. One hundred of their best friends and family celebrated for three days straight, in one of the most beautiful weddings I’ve ever taken part. So even though you’ve seen the pictures before, here they are again in album design form.

Dressed in Holiday Style!

I live in the cutest neighborhood in America, I swear. Old Towne Orange is where it’s at peeps, if you’re into quaint and quiet with a little bit of quirk. At least those are three of my fave attributes about my town anyway.

There’s this one street that DECKS THE FRIGGIN HALLS every December, and it’s become a little tradition for Chloe and I to walk down and take in all the holiday style. This year, my friend/client asked if I’d shoot a few shots for his parents that live on said street. Sure! I had said.

So I did. On my own city sidewalks, busy sidewalks…dressed in 9/11 remembrance holiday style!

Visuals from Venezia – Part 1

Venice was by far my favorite city in Italy, visually, mentally and self exploratorily. Hah, is that last one even a word? Who cares, you get me.

The city is unlike any I’ve ever seen. It’s quiet yet overcrowded with tourists; it’s small yet large enough to get completely lost; it’s full of grand palaces, yet decayed with grime and grunge. A juxtaposition of sea and cement, attention and neglect, and some of the softest, sweetest light just one turn away from the darkest, coldest corner.

I learned a lot those few days. Here’s some of the visuals I was taking in while doing so…

Los Angeles Engagement Portraits | Lanie and Daniel

Lanie and Daniel are kind of my favorite couple right now. Okay, not really, cause my parents totally win that title like every day, but Lanie and Daniel are climbing my awesome couple rungs quickly!

First of all, they said they were nervous. Which, when someone tells me that, I totally brush it off cause the second we start shooting it blows off immediately. I’m way too fun for people to be nervous around.

Then they put off our shoot for weeks. THEN their feet got cold and they rescheduled after we finally had a date. Wow, they really are nervous, I thought. So after some emailed hand holding, I convinced them we were just going to hang out and have a really good time.

So we did! We started at this groovy cafe in downtown L.A. and hung around together the next few hours and had a blast! Lanie and Daniel are total gadget geeks so we played with our phones, laptops, websites and cameras (duh) and cruised around downtown ending on a rooftop at dusk. SO.FAB. There was no nervousness, just tons of laughing and hand holding (not via email) and talking about awesomeness in a general sort of way. This couple is cool as a cucumber and I really enjoyed getting to know them more during our e-sesh.

Lanie and Daniel, you rock! So stoked for your wedding next month!

Seasonal Snuggles | Irvine Family Portraits

When I met Stella, it was quickly apparent that she liked to be the life of the party. Then my camera came out and she was totally up front and center and not shy about it in the slightest. She was so fun to shoot! Such a good big sister to show the others how it’s done, hah. I was kind of in kid heaven.

I love that I get to play with kids and hang out with them for an hour, then leave them behind with their parents as I go on my merry way. It’s kind of the best situation ever. Especially when you have three kids under four in holiday jammies and Christmas lights, climbing and crawling and talking and laughing nonstop. I had so much fun with them! But then I got the leave the craziness behind…
