Little people are so endearing to me. Full of energy, full of curiosity, and full of so much freedom in thinking that I get inspired around them. With children there are no limits to thought. And that is a beautiful thing.

Photographed these kids last fall for their family holiday photos and I just love reminiscing on their little personalities and attitudes full of joy. I’ll say it again, I love kids! I also love saying goodbye when our session is over and handing them back to their parents. 😛

Laguna Beach Family Photos

To say I started photographing this family from the beginning literally means, I started photographing this family from the beginning. I worked with Kalei in college when she was dating Cary and remember handing her my very first business card, all proud I was going to do something with this new camera love of mine. Didn’t know much of what to do in those days, but Kalei has supported me every step of the way since.

When she began her family, she invited me to come shoot her wedding; actually I’m not sure if I asked first or if she offered, but they had hired their friend and said I could come shoot if I wanted. It was my first wedding as a photographer and I’ll never forget that opportunity they gave me.

Then I got to photographer their new baby when she came along. Then her brother when he came too. And so the story goes on year after year, shoot after shoot; I’ve been photographing these guys from the beginning. Theirs and mine. 🙂

So here they are this year (along with a few shots with their cousins who came along for a beach day; photo shoot then play date on the sand? so. much. YES.). And like my photography skills (fortunately) and their little souls and bodies, my love for these guys keeps growing.
