Check out this lovely film by Two Spoons shot at Emily and Colby’s Marbella wedding this summer. Tugs on the heart strings a bit, doesn’t it?

So lucky to work with such wonderful people! #ilovemyjob!!!

From Capitol Romance blog:

I have a love hate relationship with styled shoots recently. I feel like the wedding blogging scene has become a BIT inundated with them and I also feel like EVERY vendor and their brother is now getting together to do a “styled shoot” that only end up resulting in neither new nor inspiring images. The over-abundance of styled shoots almost instantly kill “trends” before they even really become trends. But enough ranting about styled shoots, since my whole point was to introduce today’s blog post which is … you guessed it … a styled shoot! (oh the irony)

But here’s the catch – this one is actually different! It’s truly unique and the details are exquisite and the theme is concise (but not forced) and the best part is that it actually makes sense. The vendors took a theme and applied it to a styled shoot that could ACTUALLY work for a real wedding! The theme incorporated a song (Dave Matthews Band’s “You & Me” – a fab wedding song) AND the couple’s love story, to create a styled shoot that was yes, styled, but also inspiring and applicable to a real wedding. They also created details that the couple could actually re-use as art in their home after the wedding! What a novel idea!

Earlier this year I ran a contest to win a free photo shoot. The winner is also a photographer and we decided to do a collaborative shoot together to develop and grow.

Her business is budding and she rocks with the styling of shoots, so naturally she took the reigns and created an awesome concept for Finley. I love the softness of the lace dress mixed with the ruggedness of her boots. So I contrasted a creamy background with a sharpness on her eyes and hair. I love the sweetness of the hair piece and bow, combined with the seriousness in her eye. And so the natural and comfortable poses were fantastic with her earnest face. So dramatic. Love it!

Finley is a studd, btw. She’s getting her feet wet with modeling so was the perfect person to work with for this project and I must say, she rocked it. I love that three heads are better than one, and I love when growth is shared.

Jeani Hoffman - My friend just sent me these photos. They are so beautiful! I remember babysitting Finley’s sisters and brother when my daughter took her to the back bay. I am thrilled to have these beautiful photos. Thanks for capturing her beauty.I wondered if you got any of her laughing with her humor? lol Thanks again. I can’t wait to show my mom (Finley’s great gramma) & my gramma (Finley’s Great Great Gramma):)

Travel to me is education. Travel to me is escape. Travel to me is excitement. Travel is danger whispering at the nape

of my neck.

Travel is funny food and people being rude in ways you don’t understand. It’s the flick of an eye, a smile that’s shy, and communicating in ways you’ve never done before.

Travel is sunrises. Dark walks. Interesting talks with people you’ll probably never see again. It’s peeing in weird places and taking pictures of faces

of worlds that are ancient, but completely new to you.

It’s unfamiliarity. Similarity. And the realization that as different as we all are, we’re exactly the same.

I took a little break this year from traveling…. I’m itching though. I’m itching real bad. Watch out 2014: I might just have to travel all over you.

I’ve been meaning to post this sweet baby photography session for months and the other day I saw Reagan’s THREE MONTH old post on FB and realized, whoa, hey, yo I’m behind!

I shot sweet Reagan’s mom earlier this year in a stellar maternity photography session in Laguna and booked this session at the same time, even though the little one was yet to grace us with her presence. So within a week of her debut, I went over to their home for her first photo sesh. Isn’t she the sweetest?
