Steve knew he needed a portrait photographer to spruce up his online image for his new blog. After all, as fabulous as iPhone photography has become, there are just some things we need to reserve for the pros.

Steve knows this better than anyone as he heads Zeek Interactive, a digital development company that has jumped and jived in the internet business for 17 years. If you want enterprise level solutions, call Zeek. If you want a Lovatoprise portrait revolution, call Lovato Images.

I was introduced to Robin Benway several years ago and it was almost like dumping a packet full of Pop Rocks into my mouth, there was sweetness and excitement exploding all over.

Robin’s just got one of those personalities that make you giggle and smirk over nothing in particular at all. She’s witty and insightful and absolutely delightful to be around. I know you’re not supposed to end a sentence with a preposition, especially on a post about an author, but there I just did.

So Robin’s latest young adult novel ‘Also Known As‘ hit shelves a few weeks ago and after a tour around the country she ended at Vroman’s in Pasadena for a book signing. Even in front of a full audience, she easily charmed us and I noticed several times that I had a smile on my face the entire hour. And her characters are that endearing too! I read her first two books and can’t wait to dive into this one. I mean, when a book begins with ‘I cracked my first lock when I was three,’ you can’t help but wanna know more.

Abigail Ann - Is she the one who wrote Audrey Wait? I loved that book! Want to send me a copy of this one? 🙂

Check out this short highlight film of Andrea and Dave’s wedding at the Laguna Cliffs Marriott and St. Edwards on the hill in Dana Point. I shot this for Mission Visual last year and watching this film brings back the memories of the awesomeness of the day.

Be sure to get your wedding video, guys! It’s worth it to get the sound and movement of your day!

I have to take a moment to share not a photography tip, but a tip on how to put your best face forward. I’ve had a few facials in my day. And they were very nice. Then I went to Cynthia Karim’s facial studio in Yorba Linda and I gotta say, my facial bar has been raised. High.

Cynthia’s got wonderful products, a ridiculously comfortable and relaxing space and a healing touch. Her product lines are completely natural, preservative free and non-allergenic. You can go to her [groovy] place or she’ll come to you. She uses techniques specifically for revitalizing dry, dull skin texture and minimizing fine expression lines. Sound like your cup of tea? It’s totally mine!

Facial Services…with Cynthia include a one hour facial with extractions, acupressure face, shoulder, neck and scalp massage, exfoliation and a customized masque. Massage, Waxing, Hot Almond and Coconut Oil hair treatment also available…Provided at your home $50, hers in Yorba Linda $40.

Hot Almond or Coconut Oil Hair treatment and massage…$15.

Waxing services provided in Yorba Linda only…Brow: $10 and Lip $8.

Her Facial Treatments specialize in the treatment of skin that has been damaged by age.

So when you’re ready to get your bar raised, give Cynthia a call. I don’t do this very often on my blog, if ever. But this is a facial experience like I’ve never had before and I had to share! 714.350.7840.

C wanted boudoir pictures finally, because she’s always wanted to do them. She had a vision of a grungy spaced filled with the beauty of the female body, but I don’t know that she was visualizing just how beautiful she actually is. After reviewing her proofs, C sent me this:

I was most happy to see me in these images.  This is the complete opposite reaction that I thought I would have as I nervously opened my gallery… This is straight out evidence of my body as it was on that day, months away from my 40th birthday. I’ve nibbled all my fingernails away anxiously awaiting the outright truth that would lie in my images – my body exposed as it is – forcing me to look at myself as I am. Because truthfully I’m in that ‘place’ where I avoid my reflection in store windows as I pass by.  I’ve been much thinner in the past…

But I couldn’t be happier! We all say we’re going to wait until we’re in better shape. We wait for 5, 10, 20 more pounds to come off.  I’m SO happy I didn’t wait!  I love that these images are me, now.  It’s really my favorite thing about this experience.  The skin on my face doesn’t look like it did 20 years ago but this face has carried me through 40 years now. All those lines have come from so much laughter, good memories under the sun, and many tears, all which got me to where I am today.  This is who I am and having you photograph me now was perfect. Not waiting until I was ‘perfect,’ was the best gift I could’ve given myself. “

Now that‘s beauty. You are perfect, C. I’m so happy to have photographed you perfectly as you are.

Stay tuned for more from this session…
