I love seeing my images in print! This one arrived awhile ago, but as the date has drawn nearer than ever, I figured it’s a good time to share!

With much anticipation and excitement, the saved date for Katelyn and Darius’ wedding has (almost) finally arrived! The fab couple will wed at the Casino in San Clemente next Friday and I’m so looking forward to documenting the wedding photography images of their day.

We shot their engagement photography in San Juan Capistrano earlier this year and they brought a DIY save the date sign for this postcard they had envisioned. The color is a little off (I’m not good with scanner calibrations, sorry), but you get the point! Next weekend we’re going to party hardy for these two as they wed! Can’t wait to hear those wedding bells ringing!

One of my favorite quotes is by Elizabeth Gilbert when she writes ‘You are what you think.’ Happiness doesn’t depend on who you are or what you have, it depends completely on what you think. And what you think of yourself is so important. Some of us think mostly great about ourselves, while some of us tend to pick ourselves apart, but we all need to continually develop our self worth. One way to improve self worth is by learning to have courage in a vulnerable situation. Being able to look at ourselves and say, ‘Hey wait a minute, I am strong, I am valuable, I AM BEAUTIFUL.’ It’s being able to look in the mirror and be happy with who stares back at you. It’s accepting that extra inch on your waist, or the deeper wrinkle below your eye and saying to yourself again, ‘I am strong, I am valuable, I am beautiful!’

Every woman has a sexy side. She just has to believe it. Sexy doesn’t look; it feels, it strengthens, it loves. Sexy is having self worth, walking around tall and not being afraid to show it. Sexy is letting everyone around you know it: ‘I am Alice Kingsley, and I can slay the jabberwocky!’ or, ‘I am (insert your name here), I can (insert action you are to accomplish here)!’

I have photographed many things over the years and I have to admit that boudoir pictures are my favorite to capture. It’s such an intimate session where a woman is forced to own up to her self and have the courage to love herself more. We live in a world where all we do is put ourselves down, a world where we become hard and refrain from vulnerability, a world where we just never feel good enough. What better work to invest in than to empower women through the art of photography? My job is to capture your beauty so everyday you are reminded of just how gorgeous you are.

Boudoir photos* are for every woman: voluptuous, flat, curvy, thin, long or wide. This is your moment to shine, build that self confidence and say ‘Yes, I am strong, I am valuable, I am beautiful and amazing!’ You are what you think, after all. So jump in front of my camera and start thinking more!

*note, boudoir pictures do not have to be taken in lingerie or nude. you wear what you’re comfortable in, what you feel good in and what makes you feel most sexy.

Recently I saw a picture posted on Facebook that said ‘What if this was all you had from your parents wedding pictures?’

destination wedding photography www.lovatoimages.comPINME

The post hit me like a brick, because so many of my wedding clients want only a disc of the images. This has always been fine by me because albums, canvas and prints can be expensive and I understand the desire for the image files alone. At least we have them, right? We can deal with printing/whatever later.

Well as my years in the wedding industry have increased and my experience has developed, I know this is usually not the case. Life happens and personal projects from the past pile up and before you know it, it’s been ten years and you still haven’t printed a single frame. What if all you had was an old disc that your computer doesn’t recognize anymore? What if we don’t even use computers as we know it in the future?

Additionally, your [Lovato] Images are meant to be shared and showcased…from your hearts, with your eyes and throughout your homes. The Lovato Images goal is to the showcase the beauty of your story, so that you may share it with generations to come.

This is beautifully done through a custom designed book from your wedding or event. I can’t tell you how much time I’ve spent looking through my parents wedding album, cherishing every smile, every curl, every line of lace from my mother’s dress. Therefore I urge you to consider a book for yourself, and prints and wall mounts for your family. The importance of your story is bigger than digital files stored away somewhere…

Album design for Karoline and Andrew’s fairy tale story from their destination wedding in Rome:

Carie - Jackie-I couldn’t agree more!! First of all, delicious, lovely album. I fully believe in making an album, and right away! Prints, canvases, yes!!!!

So taking a two week vacation has made me feel like I need a vacation! Is that weird? It’s just always a little difficult coming back to a household and to work and to backed up emails and bills and cleaning and plant watering and wondering why life can’t be as simple as it was on Santorini…

Anyway! My apologies for a lack of post here in awhile. I was slam jammed with bookings and business (and life as usual) this week and wasn’t able to touch the bliggity blog. However, I’ve got some fun stuff up its sleeves so stay tuned for some updated wedding photography images and other fun photos we recently shot!

Here’s one from Jessica and Max’s Temecula winery wedding to feast your eyes upon for now…happy Friday ya’ll!

I’ve been working with Kalei for almost ten years now; can you believe it?! We started our relationship back at Cal State Fullerton where we both worked in Media Relations for the volleyball program. Her then-boyfriend Cary would come to games from time to time and I knew from jump that this was the guy for her.

A few years later, they decided to tie the knot and graciously granted me the opportunity to photograph their wedding; one of my first. Since, I’ve been blessed by growing with them professionally as they’ve grown as a family. First came Emalani, and I’ve fortunately been the one to document her every year as she’s grown. Now Emalani’s growing in new ways as a brand new sister to her brand new little brother Benjamin.

After the little guy popped out, I headed over to their home for his first official photo shoot. Emalani was a ball of energy as usual so we took a break to toss a football and tea party it up. She was happy to hold her little bro and help with his baby’s first portraits. Isn’t he a doll baby?! I’m obsessed with his cheeks and his eyes and his rolls and his lips and his nose. Can’t wait to grow with him too!
