Kris and Katy’s Post-Apocalyptic Love | Anaheim Hills Wedding

Katy and Kris are artists and every ounce of their creativity was poured into their wedding. They both are visionaries who see beyond the present and tangible, and their unique perspective was told in every detail of their day. The theme of their wedding was post-apocalyptic, focusing on the regrowth of nature and new life. The story Katy and Kris want to tell is that their love is not defined or confined by anything man made.

They chose the Oak Canyon Nature Center in Anaheim Hills to exchange their vows and they dressed the rustic landscape with deep purples and bright greens including fresh ferns and succulents. As their guests moved to their reception at the McCoy Equestrian Center, they were encouraged to bring sentimental items to put in a time capsule that Katy and Kris will open on their 10th anniversary. They were provided with ‘survival rations’ or snacks then were seated at tables with centerpieces made by Katy and Kris themselves that were each an organic mix of life and death. Completely DIY, Katy and Kris did an exquisite job of sharing their story and I’m honored to share it here.

Katy made necklaces for her bridal party and members of her family. They included wire wrapped beads and precious stones…

And of course Katy designed her own bouquets full of her favorite succulents.

Kris and Katy embraced for a beautifully long time when they first saw each other during their private first look.
