Shannon’s mom called me a few months back and we scheduled senior portraits for her graduating Chapman student, *Shannon. I always love senior photos because it’s a guaranteed good time. Seniors are just so full of possibility and this buoyant energy, they’re just a fun bunch to be around. Good vibes are contagious, people.
And Shannon had all those vibes that Friday afternoon we met in our Circle. My own backyard, and her own stomping grounds for the past four years, we skipped around our Old Towne with a bag of clothes and a pocket full of promise. Her mom joined us as the fashion consultant and the three of us had ourselves a good time making fun photos together. I just love my job.
As the sun began to sink behind the buildings, we wrapped up at Chapman University and I thought how lucky Shannon is to have such a supportive family and a solid foundation to spring out from. Then I realized I was there myself just a few years ago. Maybe that’s why I love senior photo shoots so much…I remember the awesomeness of being there myself. Whatever it is, I love this girl and this session!

*Fun fact!: Shannon is the cousin (and Shannon’s mom the aunt) of one of my dear friends from childhood! They found me online and said ‘we know someone on your website,’ as I’ve photographed much of their family. Love this small world of ours. 🙂
