see where the wind takes her | travel to the windy city

sometimes a girl just needs to take off on her own two feet and see where the wind takes her. and what better location to do that than the windy city itself.

i took the day off last Friday and did just that. i waited for a train with a cup of tea. took two elevators and an escalator to the 95th floor of the sears* tower. shot some shooters. got another cup of tea and found a new friend. or maybe she found me. i wandered. explored. got lost. looked. found. and figured out quite a few things about figuring things out. it was a beautiful little journey.

i ended up walking about 8 miles through Chicago and i can say one thing’s for sure: that is one special place with way too many special people. i learned so much this weekend about travel, movement, doing things for myself and making friends where ever my feet may lead. i’ve now got more friends in that area than i could have ever hoped to have and i left super anxious to get back. i think i’ll wait til winter’s over though…

for now, a collection of iPhone images in honor of our great leader lost and the beauty of a city he and his products helped me find

Joe + Kathrina - I’ve only been to Chicago once but I really enjoyed the city. It looks like you had a great time, all the pictures make you feel like you were there. I imagine that “Kiss ‘n ride” could get pretty awkward.
