DIY Fall Wedding Details | Jessica and Chad’s Rustic Brea Wedding

I wasn’t the wedding photographer for Chad and Jessica’s Brea wedding earlier this month, but seeing as their creative do it yourself wedding decorations match perfectly with today’s holiday, I thought I’d share some of the details I shot.

Chad and I go way back. Like, before we understood photography back. Well, maybe he did, but I met him when I was first getting my feet wet back in collage. I mean college. We’ve been learning and working together since. Over the years I’ve come to know Chad as one of the most honest, loyal, gracious and giving guys around. And he’s a RAD photographer that has built himself a great career. He’s just great.

Then he met Jessica and I was so excited to see that Chad had finally met his match. Jessica is sweet, loving, Godfearing, generous and gorgeous beyond belief. I knew right away that God made her just for him. And him for her. I love it when I know that.

So I was super stoked to be a guest at this lovely little fall wedding for this beautiful couple. I took my camera to shoot some details for Chad and was so impressed with all the creativity they used in their do it yourself details, that I just had to share. It made for such a fun fall feel with rustic elements that made the church lot look like a picture out of a storybook: Jessica and Chad’s love storybook.

The wedding took place at the Downtown Chapel in Brea, right next door to the Promenade.

Jessica and Chad like to travel, so they had a map inspired guest book…

The reception was in the field just outside of the Chapel, which was covered in a light blanket of straw and dressed up with rustic florals and tissue paper flowers strung with twinkle lights…

Pumpkins were placed all around, adding the fall touch.

They served apple cider and fun soda which they dressed up with custom drinking straws.

Not so fond of cake, the couple opted for a pie cutting instead, of which they had plenty of homemade pies to share.

Nothing says fall to me more than a warm pumpkin pie.
