When a Couple Gets It | Marbella Wedding

Someone recently asked me to tell a bridezilla story that I’ve experienced. Without hesitation I responded that I’d never worked with one. All my clients have been insanely awesome, from the first phone call to the wedding day to the five-year anniversary where we celebrate with family portraits (stay tuned for that story, we’re shooting this week!). The people I work with just get it.

Emily and Colby and their families fit right into this awesomeness I’ve collected in clientele. Emily called me last fall on a Taco Tuesday, and I excused myself from my friends to chat with her outside for a bit. I knew right away I was going to like this chick, and as the year went on and her wedding day came, that ‘like’ had effortlessly morphed into love.

You see, Emily and Colby are all about love and family, which are the two most important elements to a badass wedding in my opinion. Their wedding day was wrapped up in togetherness, commitment and celebrating with the people they love most. The night before at the rehearsal dinner, Emily said ‘this wedding isn’t about me and it isn’t about Colby, it’s about all of you. You all have been so supportive and tomorrow is about this relationship and all of you welcoming us into the community.’ Insanely awesome, right?

I just love it when a couple gets it. And Emily and Colby certainly do. Their love is tremendous and the best part is that it’s grounded in the love they were both raised with. They celebrated last month on a sunny Saturday at Marbella Country Club in San Juan and awesomeness was abundant. Not a zilla in sight.

Such a tender moment with Emily and her dad, FOB as I liked to call him, right before the ceremony…

Then they spent a few moments alone together…
