When I met Roderick and Rosie back in December, I immediately felt at ease. They had great smiles. They seemed simple. Sweet. Then they encouraged me to let Chloe in on our meeting and any dog lover is a totally a friend of mine. Chloe sat on Roderick’s lap most of our meeting and I knew these two were good people.
You see, Roderick and Rosie are the type of people that make you feel warm on a chilly day; they are the type of people you want to meet for Friday happy hour when you’ve had a rough week. Their smiles, their warmth, their generosity…help you forget about lugging life for awhile. Roderick and Rosie care deeply about helping others in any which way. It was a gloomy day when we met and they helped brighten my day right away. After a few hours with them, I was walking a little lighter and breathing a little easier.
Then came their wedding day and easy breathing was all around. Smiles were constant. Warmth was contagious. And the peaceful, easy feeling they left me with back in December danced around with all of their guests. Roderick took the mic for a moment at the beginning of the reception and said how thankful he was to marry his best friend, the most beautiful woman he’d ever met with the most beautiful heart he’d known. A heart of gold, he said. Rosie’s eyes glittered as she reflected that gold right back.
Some might have called it a gloomy Saturday, but Roderick and Rosie brightened up their Corpus Christi church and the Fairmont Hotel as would a room filled with pure gold.
