I’ve struggled with social media for awhile now. Something about ‘the world’ knowing where I’m at and what I’m doing in the moment makes me kinda feel, well, not in the moment.

I do love sharing and I do love connecting and the fact that we have this amazing ability to reach our communities and beyond in such direct and intimate ways is still astounding to me. But something about it, something about the daily updates and posts and live look into my life makes me wanna, I duno, draw the shades.

While I continue to battle this love/hate relationship with social media, it should be known that I do like sharing but typically it’s not ‘instant.’ I prefer to be present and focused on the life that unfolds before me instead of pausing to caption and post. Most of my posts are not posted the day they happened but rather a few or more later.

So anyway, there’s that. There will also be lots of photographs from many beautiful moments in Italy coming your way soon. Like this magical moment under the moon light in Rome. Get ready to ‘like’ that shit.

My friends Michelle and Josh decided it was high time they get their [BEAUTIFUL] children baptized, and asked my folks to be the parentals for one! How cool!

Little Marie and Joshua were perfectly behaved and totally delightful as they entered the Church that afternoon. I was so happy to be there to witness the baptism and be a part of the celebration, but mostly I was happy to be there to document it. Now our families have the memories from that special event forever! I just love my job.

But really, how cute are they??? (the kids, not my parents:)) Congratulations, family! As Mr. Portokalos says, ‘It is YOUR LUCKY DAY… to be baptized into the Greek Orthodox Church!’

Family Photography in Laguna Beach

I’ve known of the Manneh’s for many years now. How could you not? They sit in the front every Sunday, Mitri serves as an usher, and they’ve got four of the most beautiful kids you ever did see. Noticeable no doubt.

So fast forward to present time and I’ve gotten to know their girls and we’ve loaded up some good memories together, with the biggest and best yet last weekend on Victoria Beach. I met the fab family in Laguna for some family portraits on the sand, and some senior photos of Matthew and Farah. A double (triple? I’m not good at math) session that was loads of fun. I love being a part of people’s family’s for a moment, getting to witness their dynamics and document who they are together. And the Manneh’s are a beautiful group.

How did I get the best job ever??? It’s people like the Manneh’s and kids like theirs that make it so. I just stand there and push a button. 😛
