Coto de Caza Private Estate Wedding

It was a gorgeous day in Southern California, as they typically tend to be, but this day was just a little bit brighter, just a touch more beautiful than the day before. This was the day Renee and Mike would finally tie the knot, and the energy of their union was shining over every moment.

After seven years together, they celebrated in the backyard of Renee’s family home in Coto de Caza. It was definitely an event to remember. The property dazzled, the weather was perfect and the guests gathered in positive vibes and prayer. The details were elegant and timeless, just like Renee and Mike’s love.

I shot this one for Full Spectrum Photography and David nailed it with exquisite portraits and priceless moments of this stunning couple. So blessed to contribute to such a spectacular day.

Orange County Bar Mitzvah Photos

Last weekend Justin became a bar mitzvah in a lovely service at his Temple Beth El in Aliso Viejo, followed by a fabulous party at the Newport Beach Fairmont. It was really great to see everyone celebrate such a special dude and his decision to take his role in the Jewish community. I really do love that rite of passage.

To honor his achievements, we got together a few weeks back for a portrait session at Victoria Beach. Here’s a peek at those images and his bar mitzvah images from this past weekend will join the blog soon!

I remember many years ago, my beautiful mother wrote in my birthday card message with extra underlines: ‘slow down.’ It’s a lesson I’m still mustering up the courage to master.

Life just moves so fast, you know? It’s so easy to get caught up in the race of it all. Especially in Southern California, especially as a business owner, especially as the social young woman I am, especially especially especially…

I spent the Fourth weekend in Laguna with my family at a friend’s house. I parked my car, closed my computer and hardly used my phone. I walked back and forth from the house to the sand, I stood on the balcony and looked out at the Pacific, sat on the edge of our land and listened to the sea. That champagne shore washed over me and with it came a cleansing message…slow down, the waves whispered, look at Me and see. It suddenly became clear that the moments where we are most attentive are the ones that are most important. Those moments where we are focused and engaged, we are fully present and fully alive.

So today I’m going to focus on moving forward with less speed, less intensity. Life is so precious. Each moment glitters with all the wonder that this life has to offer. But if we’re going too fast we’re going to miss it. So here’s to slowing down, engaging in the present and dipping your toes in the waves as much as you possibly can.

Happy Friday, ya’ll.

LA VIDA ES BO! LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL

Holbrook Palmer Park Wedding

It was a bright summer afternoon as Amy and Yashar prepared themselves in separate suites. Amy’s thick hair was wound in beautiful curls as Yashar was polished and primed a floor below. They texted back and forth on this detail and that because even though they were separated by tradition that day, they were already a tightly formed unit.

When they saw each other for the first time, Yashar held his bride and didn’t let go for a long time. It was one of the loveliest hugs I’ve ever seen. I’m sure it was one of the loveliest hugs either of them had ever felt.

The rest of the day spread out before us effortlessly, with edifying prayers read and beautiful songs sung. There was lots of laughter and dancing and hugging and celebrating the union of the two beautiful souls of Amy and Yashar. It was overwhelming to see so much love and support pouring out from their community, and so much faith and determination by everyone present to wrap around the two. They had jenga blocks to ‘build memories’ for each guest to write a sentiment to share. I couldn’t help but think how fortunate we all were to be there to become a building block in the foundation of such an incredible pair.

I think my second shooter said it sweetly at the end of the day… when you are surrounded by positive light, you receive Light. Such a beautiful way to start building a future for Amy and Yash. Thanks for the opportunity to document it all for you, you two. Hope you’re enjoying the Light over there in Thailand… 😉

They had an amazing Persian feast, starting with a giant tower of beautiful fruit. #getinmybelly

And thennnnn, they had a doughnut table including a doughnut hole tower. I mean, if you didn’t love them already, this just seals the deal, right?
