The circle of life is such an incredible miracle. That two people can come together, love each other, work with one another, create life, and through Love, nurture and support it into a new human is just…awesome. The definition of awesome is: extremely impressive or daunting; inspiring great admiration, apprehension or fear…so as much as I use that fun word in my daily life, I really mean it by it’s full definition now. 🙂

This little guy (or relatively speaking, probably quite big!) in Heather’s belly is so very loved. He was loved long ago, and he will be even more loved once he makes his earthly debut. I can’t wait to meet him! I also can’t wait to see his parents become parents. This is truly a special time. So happy to have this documentation of it…

That’s my nephew in there! I am incredibly excited to meet my brother’s son, and was overjoyed to spend the weekend with his parents to be this weekend in Sac. The Lovato clan is about to have the best change ever when this little gemini makes his debut in a couple months. In the meantime, his mama’s gonna cruise around looking like a goddess. #nbd

More maternity photos to come!

A couple weeks ago I impulsively decided to take the day off and take my favorite little lady to our favorite beach. We also had a friend in town from Michigan, so showing him a good time was another motivating factor. But really, I just wanted to stop the hustle and bustle for a minute and savor some of life’s sweetness with my sweetest.

I’ve had too many friends lose their beloved canines this year. They’ve all been older dogs, seasoned and ripe, and close to their time. But that doesn’t make it easier. Harder actually, I’d gander to say. Their time with us is so short and for those of us that get more of it than others, the bonds formed with these beings is like nothing else on this earth.

Thus my limited time with Chloe was gnawing at my neck. So I turned off the ‘to-do’ list and turned my priorities that day to loving my girl, listening to the waves crash on the sand and watching life’s wonders stretch before me, one light ray at a time. We went up to Top of the World to watch the sun set and as the day slowly began its shift to night, I was overwhelmed with appreciation and a pull to stay present…

I appreciate this beautiful backyard of mine, this gorgeous chunk of land I call home. I appreciate being able to appreciate it that day. I’m thankful for my work that supports and grounds me, but grants me freedom at the same time. I’m thankful for friends, four legged and two, that give me presence and keep me in the present. I’d have missed so much in this life if it weren’t for my people and this one special poodle. And you guys might miss it too. Put your phones down damnit. Turn off your machines. TUNE IN to ALL that’s before you…your relationships, your freedom of choice, your ability to go outside and witness Creation happen right in front of you. Look someone deep in the eyes and learn something about them. Listen. Life’s pretty fucking incredible. Don’t miss it.

My friend brought his drone so while he began to fly, Chloe and I walked around taking some photos too…

Then my favorite human came and met us just before the sun sank behind Catalina.

…Chloe was cold so he put her in his jacket. <3

“Do you still do your blog?” “Are you still running your business?” “I haven’t seen you on social media lately…”

Some questions I’ve received lately make it sound like I’ve got to have a chat with my marketing department, eh? Someone’s not doing their job effectively!

Truth be told, I’ve slipped on the marketing reigns lately and I’m totally okay with it. No, I don’t want you to think I’ve fallen off the wagon (still riding!). I don’t want anyone to wonder if Lovato Images still exists (it does!). I’ve just got some other avenues that have required exploration and dedication and while Lovato Images is still bustling and booming, I’ve taken time away from some of the business side of things to do well, other things. I’m still taking care of my clients 110% and creating awesome images daily, I just haven’t been marketing as much (or doing business development much or accounting much or IT much…someone should talk to those departments too huh).

So anyway thanks for staying tuned! Thanks for wondering what’s up. Thanks for being amazing humans in relationships with me and the ones you love that give me reason to do what I do.

Weddings are not always the easiest thing to plan, do, attend, etc. Traci and her family got a funky little taste of the not-so-easy these last couple of months for sure.

There are always bound to be glitches and Traci and Donny took it all in stride. Then the big day came, and for reasons beyond their control, Traci’s parents were unable to attend. What a topper for the cake! Traci handled it all beautifully though; she held her head high, got ready with her friends and brother, and stepped into her kimono to become the most exquisite bride you ever did see.

Naturally, Donny’s face lit up when he saw her, and although the emotions and tensions were still high, it was easy to see the love these two share shine through. Things don’t always work out the way you plan, but if you keep a good attitude and focus on what’s good, you’ll make it out alright. Traci, Donny and their families showed us that this weekend.

I’m honored to show it to you here. It really is such a blessing to do what I do; to document such special moments and be able to share them with others is one of the most incredible aspects of this job. From the time I was a little girl (when I met Traci) I always wanted to help people. And today that manifests itself in a most wonderful way: Traci’s parents get to see her wedding.
