Kimberly was a beautiful mother to be and I’m glad she chose to honor this time in her life with some maternity portraits. We met her at Irvine Regional Park with a whole crew to assist: her husband to join, of course, her best friend for make-up and hair, and the godfather to be and another friend to help with their dogs. My awesome assistant and I were stoked on the team! If  Kimberly and her husband have that much support for a maternity session, I know their new life with their daughter is going to be stellar. Cause let’s be real people, we all know it takes a village.

Sometimes I feel like I’d be better off with a village here at Lovato Images hq. I could use some help with the make-up hair/department for sure! 😉

Anyway, Kimberly said they never really had engagement portraits so we combined her maternity portraits with an engagement photography feel, so we could include the Mr. right. Enjoy!

So I shot these wedding photography images a few years ago, but as we all know, life and love all that living can get in the way and Amy and Gavin’s fairy tale wedding story (in album form) just got finalized and printed. As my dad would say, Wohoo!

This kind-hearted, committed couple celebrated their union at the beautiful Rose Court Garden then danced the night away with Mickey and all of their guests at the Sleeping Beauty Pavilion. It was seriously a fairy tale wedding, complete with a glass slippers and Cinderella’s glass carriage to carry them away. So happy to have their story shared in the beautiful 10×10 album that this will be!

How is it already February 16? I feel like I have so many goals yet to set, so many setting-up-the-year tasks still to complete. I really should know by now that my motivation and high sights don’t reside in the beginning of the year, but stick with me all year round. This is a good thing.

Today is February 16. I am fond of the fine wrinkles that are settling around my eyes, content with the way my body needs just a little more TLC than it did before. I really should keep in mind that happiness with self paves the way to happiness in life, and I should work to keep it this way as many days as I can.

It’s February 16. I started my day with a silent prayer and will end it with two rolls of film, secretly holding my visions until they’re exposed. I should more often keep a quiet tongue and accept freedom with exposure. Taking time to listen and think is necessary, while letting it all out sometimes is too.

And today, my day, I’m going to let it out and look up and on at what is to be the best year yet. I’m excited to push for more. I’m happy to be healthy. I’m ready to rock this life I’m so blessed to lead.

Sometimes I’m inspired by the most simple things: a cup of tea, an engaged barista, a gusty morning. A few weeks ago, a pair of shoes arrived at my doorstep and as I tried on the mile-high monsters and realized I would probably never walk [in them] again, a vision rushed over me like the first sip of hot coffee instantly warming the morning. I knew I had to do a personal shoot with them.

Concurrently, a few days prior I had been talking with a friend who had suggested I get boudoir photos done of myself this year. I’ve posed here and there for friends, but never done a shoot for myself. It’s time, she said. I agreed. So this boudoir picture promise on top of my new shoe inspiration, this self portrait with Chloe manifested immediately. With the upcoming holiday and all this love stuff in the air, it came at the perfect time.

My apologies if you didn’t get a Valentine from me in the mail this year. If you’re not on my mailing list, please sign up here, now. Then next Valentine’s, you can feel this love in the air too…

So Happy Valentine’s Day, all! I hope inspiration and creation and accomplished goals and lots of love meet you today and move forward with you tomorrow.
